Sales History

The type I dollar was issued solely in 1984 with the new type II obverse being introduced in 1985. To replace the masses of dollar notes being withdrawn from circulation, the mintage needed to be high. A total of almost 186 million coins were produced that year for circulation with close to an additional million in collector sets and single coin issues. Consequently this issue is very easy to acquire in any grade with numerous mint rolls still surfacing today.
