This Tasmanian Devil piece was released in 2014 by the Perth Mint as part of the eight coin Opal series. The series features unique nocturnal creatures finished with striking opal designs. The reverse of this particular coin features a panel design of a Tasmanian Devil detailed in pure opal. The outer reverse panel features soft fern trees and the southern cross with the legend 'TASMANIAN DEVIL.' The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of HM Queen Elizabeth II with the legend 'ELIZABETH II - AUSTRALIA - 1 DOLLAR.'
