The 2012 Gold Miniature Ten Cent is part of a unique eight coin set containing all of Australia's original circulating designs in 99.99% gold. Each of these coins are struck in the same miniaturised size (11.15mm). This ten cent piece contains Stuart Devlin's super lyrebird reverse design and the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. Devlin's initials (SD) can be found below the denomination and Rank-Braodley's initials (IRB) can be found beneath the obverse effigy.
The gold miniature set was limited to a population of 2000 and was issued in a speciality red wooden case. The set was created as the Royal Australian mint wanted to create an affordable way to obtain a full set of Australia's stunning circulating coins in pure gold.
