The Tobruk piece was released by the Perth Mint in 2011 as
part of the 'Famous Battles in Australian History' series. The series was issued to commemorate the involvement and sacrifices
made by Australian soldiers in a number of significant international conflicts. The
reverse features a depiction of an Australian soldier dressed in Second World War Desert Campaign military issue
and a printed image of soldiers at Tobruk. The reverse inscription reads
'TOBRUK 1941 - 1OZ 999 SILVER.' The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley
effigy of HM Queen Elizabeth II with the
legend
'ELIZABETH II - AUSTRALIA 2011 - 1 DOLLAR.'
