In 2003 the Perth Mint released this one dollar coin to celebrate
the 21st Birthday of Prince William. The reverse featured a coloured
image of Prince William with the inscription 'H. R. H. Prince William of Wales - twenty-first BIRTHDAY 21-06-2003.' The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of HM Queen Elizabeth II with the
legend
'ELIZABETH II - AUSTRALIA - 1 DOLLAR.'
Prince William the Duke of Cambridge was born on the 21st of June 1892 as the eldest child of Charles the Prince of Wales
and heir apparent to HM Queen Elizabeth II. After completing education at the University of St Andrews, William completed
officer training before qualifying as a pilot with the Royal Air Force. Between 2009 and 2013 he served as a full-time helicopter
pilot with the RAF Search and Rescue Force. In 2011 Prince William married Catherine Middleton. The royal couple have two
children - Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
