Certainly an interesting part of Sarawak history is the presence of the White Rajahs. First James Brooke then eventually succeeded by Charles Brooke in 1868, Charles was actually a secondary choice, the first was another nephew John Brooke whom was deemed unworthy. Though Charles came into power in 1868, his coins only had this portrait starting in 1870. Despite a mintage of only 100,000, the Charles Brooke Quarter Cent can be obtained from low to high condition but will require great patience.
Most of these coins come toned in dark-chocolate color with highlights of lilac toning.
